Flight operations have recommenced at Edinburgh Airport after a major air traffic control outage halted all operations.
All incoming and outgoing flights were stopped due to an systems problem that arose around 08:30.
A number of travelers found themselves stranded in aircraft on the tarmac during the disruption.
Services Recommence with Continued Disruption
A statement indicated at 10:40 that operations had restarted, and expressed gratitude to passengers for their "patience and understanding".
Nonetheless, ongoing issues are expected to affect schedules. Services bound for key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been called off, with numerous other services facing hold-ups.
Officials had previously estimated that a significant number of movements could be impacted.

The airport attributed the operational halt to an IT issue with its air traffic control provider.
