A cleric has described the moment when a person tried to break into his city synagogue during a lethal attack, stating "I observed wickedness, I saw hate".

Rabbi Daniel Walker mentioned that he and others secured the entrances of Heaton Park synagogue as the assailant was "body-charging the gateways, throwing heavy flower containers, trying everything he could to gain entry".
